The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has issued an urgent appeal to the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nagaland, highlighting the critical need for the extension of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system in Dimapur and the rigorous enforcement of ILP regulations across Nagaland. Concerned by the lax implementation of ILP, which has led to an alarming influx of illegal immigrants threatening the indigenous population and cultural heritage, the NSF demands immediate action to address this pressing issue. They call for the revocation of the suspension order affecting Dimapur, the establishment of ILP monitoring cells at key entry points, comprehensive ILP enforcement in all districts, improved legal processes for ILP defaulters, and extensive awareness campaigns to educate residents about ILP requirements. The NSF emphasizes that these measures are vital to safeguarding the identity and future of the Naga homeland.
